Overview
Hologic® DEXA Bone Densitometry
Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, or DEXA, remains the clinical gold standard for measuring bone mineral density and diagnosing osteoporosis. Hologic’s bone densitometry systems are among the most trusted in the field, known for their scanning speed, clinical versatility, and long service life. A Hologic DEXA system from Brown’s Medical Imaging gives your facility access to that proven technology at a fraction of new equipment cost, fully inspected and ready for patient use.
Built for diagnostic accuracy
Hologic DEXA systems use dual-energy X-ray technology to measure bone mineral density at clinically relevant sites including the spine, hip, and forearm. Results are expressed as T-scores and Z-scores, giving clinicians the data they need to diagnose osteoporosis, assess fracture risk, and monitor treatment response over time. Depending on the model, additional study types including whole body composition, vertebral assessment, and dual hip scanning may also be supported.
Phantoms and calibration
Every Hologic DEXA system requires phantoms for proper quality assurance, used to verify calibration and confirm the accuracy of patient scans before each imaging day. Brown’s Medical Imaging verifies phantom availability with every system we sell and can assist with sourcing correct replacement phantoms for your specific model when needed.
