The Affirm stereotactic biopsy attachment turns your existing Selenia Dimensions system into a complete breast biopsy solution, no separate imaging equipment required. Instead of referring patients out for stereotactic biopsy, your facility can perform 2D or 3D image-guided biopsies on the same system already used for screening and diagnostic mammography.
The attachment installs directly onto your Selenia Dimensions or 3Dimensions system, so the same high-resolution detector used for mammography exams is also used for biopsy, eliminating the need for separate biopsy equipment or a referral to another facility.
A large field of view delivers high-resolution stereotactic 2D or 3D imaging, making it easier to visualize and target suspicious areas, including lesions and calcifications only visible with tomosynthesis.
Patients position themselves easily, aided by a movable face shield, and on 3D-capable systems, the tomosynthesis scan completes in just 3.7 seconds, reducing the need for repeat scans. A smooth, continuous sweep captures images without the motion artifacts that step-and-shoot systems can introduce.
An optional lateral arm accessory allows clinicians to switch between standard and lateral needle approaches without repositioning the patient or adding equipment, useful for accessing harder-to-reach lesions and thinly compressed breasts.
A 70 cm source-to-image distance and streamlined tube head design make positioning easier and create more room for interventional procedures, translating into faster setup, better access during interventional work, more space around the patient during imaging, and sharper images with less magnification and distortion.
A 2MP or 3MP DICOM-calibrated display gives radiologists fast, detailed image review, with the ability to pull up prior exams for side-by-side comparison. The face shield retracts for easier patient positioning, and the FAST paddle system conforms to the breast’s natural curve for more even compression and added comfort.
