Improved Workflow and Expanded Services with the X-1 Radiography System

Upgrading to the X-1 radiography system from Brown’s Medical Imaging has brought major improvements to both patient care and imaging efficiency.

Better Access for All Patients

With an increased deck height range, the table can be lowered significantly, making it much easier to accommodate:

  • Wheelchair patients, who can now transfer more comfortably and safely.

  • Sterile procedures, including myelograms and standard radiologist-guided injections, which require optimal table positioning.

Expanded Imaging Capabilities

Previously, the facility had to refer out certain studies — such as leg length and scoliosis series — because the existing equipment couldn’t handle them. Now, with the X-1:

  • These exams can be completed in-house, keeping patients local.

  • Referring physicians can send patients directly here, bringing in outside cases and boosting volume.

Two-Panel Configuration for Faster Workflow

The X-1 features a 17×17 panel in the wall stand and a 14×17 panel in the table, eliminating the need to move panels back and forth.

  • No panel swapping means less time per exam.

  • Smoother workflow benefits both patients and technologists.

The Brown’s Medical Imaging Difference

When Brown’s presented the X-1 system, the benefits for workflow and patient experience were clear.

“It really showed us this would be a better workflow for our patients and for us, too.”

With improved patient access, the ability to perform more types of studies, and faster throughput, the X-1 has made a lasting impact on care and efficiency.
