In 2007, while serving as Director of Radiology at a large academic medical center in Brooklyn, New York, we faced a challenge familiar to many healthcare leaders: finding the right partner to support our imaging equipment.
At the time, we were searching for an outside entity that could provide both service contracts and resources we could count on. That search led us to New York Imaging, a small, local organization dedicated to serving the Brooklyn and New York City metropolitan area.
What began as a local partnership has since grown into something much larger—and more impactful.
Fast forward to today, and that same company has become Prestige Medical Imaging (PMI) and, through growth and partnership, part of Brown’s Medical Imaging (BMI). Together, BMI-PMI now serves hospitals and imaging centers across the country—yet the core of their business remains the same: reliable service, responsive support, and a commitment to keeping rooms running.
In radiology, time is money—and availability is everything. If a service engineer isn’t available when equipment goes down, patient care suffers. Rooms back up. Schedules are delayed. The ripple effect can impact providers and patients alike.
That’s why the relationship we’ve built with BMI-PMI over the past two decades has been so valuable. Their responsiveness, reliability, and ability to keep our equipment running has been nothing short of exceptional.
What started as a local service contract has become a 20+ year relationship—one that continues to evolve as BMI-PMI grows and expands. Whether it’s purchasing new equipment or maintaining existing systems, they’ve been there every step of the way.
For us, the lesson is clear: technology matters, but the service behind it matters even more. And in BMI-PMI, we’ve found a partner who understands that uptime isn’t just a number—it’s the foundation of patient care.
